Marketers, you know that catching someone’s attention is only half the battle.

In fact, that begins to look like a skirmish when compared to the real task— Keeping your audience’s attention.

The average person’s attention span for advertising content stretches a grand total of… Eight seconds.

A goldfish’s attention span is nine seconds, if that helps give you some perspective. Now, there are plenty of ways to combat this, but we’re going to focus on one today.

Speed.

It’s not hard; make your video shorter. Hit your points faster and sooner. Keep your editing tighter. Seconds matter in ad-attention spans. And they cost money. So a well-made, intentional video not only is more effective, it will hopefully eventually pay for itself.
